Knights Against Cancer students cooked dinner for the patients and their families who are staying at Kevin Guesthouse in Buffalo. One of their favorite ways to give back every year, the students decide what meal to make. The students and their families donate all the items, and then they come together to cook the meal. The students all take an active role in doing this meaningful work and truly enjoy sharing a meal together after it’s cooked.
"It’s such a joy to watch our kids come together and laugh, cook and work together truly as a team," said KAC advisor Mrs. Kardashian. "I’ve been doing this with kids for the past 9 years or so, and it’s such an incredible bonding moment for our students, but it's such a joy for the patients and their families who are staying there. When I delivered the meal, a gentleman who was staying for his first night was blown away by what our group had done and couldn’t stop telling me how touched he was and how heartwarming it was. We’re just so grateful to do what never feels like work and just brings us joy."
The students cooked spaghetti, meatballs, and salad, and made homemade garlic bread, with an extra special donation of ice cream sundaes from one of our members. They’re already looking forward to the next time!

These Knightly Scholars from Ms. Vara's classroom turned into shape detectives and crafty turkey builders. Using hexagons, circles, triangles, and diamonds, students carefully created their own turkey masterpieces. As students cut and glued each shape into place, they practiced identifying and naming 2D shapes in a fun, hands-on way!

Silver Creek Central Schools will present "Game of Tiaras" on Friday and Saturday, December 5-6! Game of Tiaras is a 2015 play by Don Zolidis, which combines three very popular entities: Disney, Game of Thrones, and Shakespeare. In this play, the king of the Magical Kingdom decides to split his empire between his three daughters: Cinderella, Belle, and Snow Queen (who in no way whatsoever represents a copyrighted character), and what ensues is tragic, comically so. The play will leave you crying from laughter. Come see our students perform this show on December 5 and 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at silvercreekhs.seatyourself.biz and are $10 for general admission and $5 for students/senior citizens.

There will also be a basket raffle and a concession stand, serving pizza, popcorn, baked goods and drinks. This week’s #SaturdayMorningShoutOut goes to our speech department, aka “the ladies with the blue door”. This team brings a level of care to their therapy that allows our kids to grow their skills through fun and creative ways, while also bringing a level of fun to their work atmosphere to fill their colleagues with laughter! Mrs. Battleson recently vistited Mrs. Karnes’ English class, and wow, what an incredible experience! Students brought the book, Great Expectations, to life through a lively classroom debate that had everyone fully engaged. After conducting research, students took sides to argue from either the convict’s perspective, defending his actions as justified and morally strong, or from Pip’s perspective, exploring how his fear and guilt revealed a deeper moral struggle.

What truly stood out was the atmosphere in the room. The respect, collaboration, and encouragement between students were remarkable. It was clear this kind of environment doesn’t just happen, it’s something Mrs. Karnes has intentionally built and nurtured over time. Students listened closely, supported one another, and celebrated each other’s ideas with genuine enthusiasm. The class wrapped up by taking a vote on which side made the stronger argument. It was a powerful reminder of how a strong classroom community can make learning both meaningful and fun! #BKP #SCCARES #everyday
