The Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club 2023 scholarship is targeted to graduating seniors in our component districts who show potential of succeeding in furthering their education and who exhibit a commitment to serving others. There is available a $500.00 scholarship for one senior from each of the eligible districts to help defray the cost of their continuing education. Please note that as "SERVICE" is a core value of Lions Club, a student's GPA is not the prime factor in deciding the award recipient and community service is heavily weighted. REQUIREMENTS: o Student must be a graduating senior from Brocton High School, Dunkirk High School, Fredonia High School, Forestville High School, or Silver Creek High School. o Student must have a minimum 2.50 cumulative grade point average. o Student must show evidence of active participation in school and community activities/service. o Student will be attending a postsecondary school: public/private college, university, or technical school, in either a two or four year program, or trade school program, starting no later than the fall semester following high school graduation o Student will submit application, attachments, essay, and parent/student authorization form HOW TO APPLY Completed application and required materials should be sent to Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club, ATTN: Scholarship Committee, Box 44, Dunkirk, NY 14048. Good afternoon Silver Creek Families, We invite you to attend the next virtual workshop on April 12, 2023. Once again, the event will be hosted by David Hymowitz of #SameHere and is part of the district’s mission to educate and support the whole child. The topic will be How to Have a Discussion with Your Children About Substance Use. Traditional workshops educate adults on how to talk TO kids. Talking to kids is the same as talking AT them, which means they probably are not listening. This workshop demonstrates effective ways to engage your kids in a discussion about substance use by using active listening skills. Listening allows them to examine their feelings and beliefs about the potential role of substances in their lives and how to support them. Links for the virtual workshops are accessible at www.silvercreekschools.org. Each workshop begins at 7:00 p.m. and runs approximately 45 minutes. The SCCS Key Club assisted the Silver Creek Kiwanis with the Easter bunny meet and greet on Saturday, April 1.

Mrs. Castiglia's Career and Financial Management students attended a workshop and visit organized by Nikki Seneca at the Seneca Alleghany Casino. The workshops included interview techniques, workplace soft skills, and career possibilities available. The day also included a tour of the facilities and a variety of speakers from the Caeeer Outreach and Development Department of the Casino.

𝗦𝗘𝗘 '𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗜𝗗' 𝗔𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗟 𝟭𝟯-𝟭𝟲 Silver Creek Central School District will present "The Little Mermaid" musical to the community in April. Silver Creek NHS is currently doing a service project that sends care packages to US soldiers. We are accepting donations in the HS guidance office until April 24th to put in the packages. You can also make cards to send in the packages. Donations can vary except anything perishable or flammable. Donations can be made in either Zach Colson's or Carolyn Laurenzi's rooms. Any further questions can be answered by Amber Lockwood or any other NHS officer.
