Please join us on September 30th for Orange Shirt Day. It is an annual awareness campaign that originated in Canada. The main goal is to raise awareness about the impact of the Indian Residential School systems as well as promote the concept of “Every Child Matters.” The Orange Shirt Day campaign was launched in 2013 by Phyllis Jack Webstad, a residential school survivor. On her first day at school, Phyllis had her new orange shirt taken away from her and she never saw it again. If you’d like to hear Phyllis’ story, see the link.
