Did you know Muhammad Ali earned the world heavyweight championship in boxing three times and was also a vocal civil rights advocate? The Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, KY, provides education and community engagement to continue Ali's legacy and inspire greatness.

Did you know Malcolm X was a prominent leader of the Civil Rights Movement who gave voice to the victims of racial violence? Although his views on peaceful resistance differed from that of Martin Luther King Jr., his pilgrimage to Mecca in 1963 changed his stance to that of tolerance of all races. He was assassinated in 1965.

Did you know Harriet Tubman made approximately 13 trips shepherding enslaved African Americans to the north, as well as telling her story during women’s rights assemblies throughout the 1850’s? The official Harriet Tubman Day is March 10, the date of her death.

Did you know Jesse Owens was the first African American captain of the Ohio State University track team and competed in the 1936 Olympics? A museum and memorial park is dedicated to him in his birth state of Alabama.

Saturday was the last day of the Lil Cagers youth basketball program for the season. Thank you to the players, parents, and volunteer coaches. Thanks to fundraising efforts, all players received a t-shirt and a basketball for participating. #BKP #SCCARES


**COURTESY POST** The Town of Hanover is looking to hire lifeguards for the 2024 summer season. We will provide the training which will begin April of 2024. Lifeguards will be assigned to work at the town beach in Sunset Bay. The salary is $19/hour. If you are interested, come to the Hanover Town Hall, Clerk's Office, at 68 Hanover St and fill out an application. You must beat least 16 years old.

We had a busy Board meeting last Thursday, February 8! Jada Davis was awarded her diploma, Aaliyah White was recognized for her quick action in an emergency situation, and Danielle Dietrick was welcomed as a psychology intern for the 2024-2025 school year! #BKP #SCCARES




Miss Mohan's class worked hard last week solving 2-digit multiplication problems. For each problem completed, the students could fill out a football square. After the Super Bowl, her class will be able to see the winners for a class prize. #BKP #SCCARES







Mrs. Feeley's Knight U Little Free Librarians held a competition between grade levels to see who could donate the most books. A total of 318 books were donated to stock the new Little Free Library. The 2nd grade donated the most books and won the prize of determining Mrs. Matson's outfit for a day. They voted for her to dress like a "grandma" and drew their suggestions for her attire. Mrs. Matson dressed up in her best grandma outfit today to the delight of all of the students!
The Little Free Library is open and currently located in the elementary lobby, where students can take or leave a book. Once the weather allows, the Little Free Library will be installed outside by the playground. #BKP #SCCARES #LittleFreeLibrary



Last week our faculty and staff participated in a SOUP-ER BOWL! Homemade soups were sampled and voted on. Mrs. Shelly Czarnecki won first place with her loaded baked potato soup. Mrs. Amy Heller came in a close second with dill pickle soup! #BKP #SCCARES
