#SameHere The Global Mental Health Movement logo

Silver Creek Central School District’s partnership with #SameHere, a global mental health movement, featured a four-part series of virtual wellness workshops held during the 2022-2023 academic year intended to engage parents/guardians and help them support students emotionally, socially, and mentally.

The workshops covered the topics of “Current Drug Trends,” “Why Do Students Self-Medicate,” “How to Have a Discussion with Your Children About Substance Use,” and “Building Resiliency in Children.” The sessions, which centered on prevention and development, covered managing everyday stressors along with unexpected ones, with #SameHere providing resources and  encouraging meaningful dialogue about social-emotional learning and mental wellness.

Following these conversations, which were facilitated in March and April 2023 by the district’s Family Outreach-School Connectedness team, the district is sharing a comprehensive and helpful list of #SameHere Tips for Families to help continue to build these relationships.

Thank you to workshop host David Hymowitz of #SameHere for collaborating with our Black Knight family to support our mission to educate and support each and every student.
