Excitement is growing for a unique opportunity where students can explore a variety of interesting topics this summer.

Black Knights who were in grades 2-5 and 6-8 for the 2022-2023 academic year are invited to enjoy a collection of deeper learning courses at Silver Creek Central School District, as it prepares to offer its very first summer session of the popular Knight University program.

These four-week Knight U courses, which are designed around teachers’ individual academic, artistic and athletic passions, are planned between July 17 and August 10, 2023. Courses will be filled on a first come, first serve basis, as spaces are limited and registration forms are due by Friday, June 30, 2023.

The Elementary School session is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on either Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesdays and Thursdays, depending on enrollment. Elementary courses are Scrapbooking 101, Volleyball 101, Theater & Playwriting and a Writer’s Workshop.

The Middle School session is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on either Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesdays and Thursdays. Depending on enrollment, students may be able to take both courses if they are interested. Middle school courses are Sign of the Times/Sign Language for Beginners and The Great Garden Group.

Silver Creek CSD is thankful for the opportunity to provide Knight U to our students and attending Knight U is a privilege. Good attendance and behavior are expected and necessary. Please direct all questions to Knight U coordinator Ms. Kristin McChesney at kmcchesney@silvercreekschools.org.
