Linking today's learning to tomorrow's possibilities

Capital Project

Welcome to our capital project journey!

This is a very exciting time for our students, staff, and community as we transform and upgrade our instructional spaces, hallways, facilities, fields and playgrounds!

Please follow this page for updates throughout the project. Our goal is to share an update with the community every 2-4 weeks dependent on the scope/location and progress of the work.

Below you will see the schedule, which we will update with changes as needed.

We have included renderings for the playground, which is set to begin between March 5th and March 9th.

You will also see examples of the other spaces that are being renovated and updated. As work begins on those phases, we will share photos and real time updates of the work as well.

If you have any questions about the capital project, please reach out to superintendent, Dr. Katie Ralston, at kralston@silvercreekschools.org.

Again, we thank you for your ongoing support for our students and community!

Contractor's Updates

June 18- This week, MKS completed the plumbing rough-ins for bathroom 209. On Monday, Mollenberg delivered our first set of UVs to be installed over the summer, and Frey completed the knee wall rough-ins for the classrooms. At the field, Louis Del Prince continued grading and installing underdrainage. Titan is finalizing the installation of the playground equipment ahead of laying the surface material.

June 11- This week, Rodriguez completed floor infills in the HS locker rooms and flooring installation in the classroom. Louis Del Prince began pouring concrete for the sidewalks around the multipurpose field. Huber made progress with framing in Bathroom 209, allowing MEP rough-ins by MKS to continue. Titian continues the installation of playground equipment.

June 5- Construction at the turf field continued as Louis Del Prince began preparing for the sidewalk around the field. Titian continued installing the playground equipment and poured concrete for the playground curb and sidewalk. Frey continued to install underground conduit around the field and dugouts. Inside, Huber completed installing the ceiling grid in rooms 193 & 213 and began framing  bathroom 209. Next week, Rodriguez will begin installing flooring within the classrooms.

May 28- This week the stone kept rolling as Louis Del Prince received stone deliveries to continue the turf field stone base. Frey has geared up and begun installing underground conduit for the field and dugouts. Titian continues to slide in the playground equipment and prep for curb installation. Rodriguez continues painting classrooms and will complete their  concrete pour for bathroom 209. Next week, Huber will begin framing bathroom 209 and installing ceiling grid inside the classrooms.

May 21- The sky was the limit this week as skylight demo and infills in our HS locker rooms wrapped up. Louis Del Prince continued dugout operations, setting rebar and sleeves for the softball backstops. Parkitects subcontractor Titan has shifted to installing the playground equipment and continues with assembly. Inside the building, MKS finalized their underground plumbing, completing backfilling and floor drain setting. With nothing but sunny skies ahead, our progress continues to shine.

May 15- The rain couldn’t stop progress this week as Louis DePrince continued site work. They completed the foundation walls for the baseball and softball dugouts and began excavating for the next set. The crew also started installing fence posts around the field perimeter and began preparing the underdrain installations. Titan began assembling the playground equipment, while Rodriguez started masonry repointing at the bus garage.

Looking ahead, we expect Frey to begin underground electrical work and MKS to wrap up the underground plumbing at bathroom 209.

May 8- Sunny skies greeted the team as Parkitects subcontractor Titan completed installing drainage piping for the new playground. Louis Del Prince is finishing up the stone and fabric subbase along with drainage piping at the field. Inside the building, MKS finished the underground sanitary piping for the new bathrooms. Frey is now preparing to start electrical demolition in the classroom and rough-in work at the workstations.

May 1- This week the April showers kept coming making us look forward to May’s flowers. Louis Del Prince continued installing field drainage piping and laying fabric and stone for the subbase. They also completed the main drainage line at the playground as Parkitect gears up to begin drainage and stone installation next week. MKS completed saw-cutting inside of the Area F bathrooms making way for their new underground plumbing lines.

March 27- We’re continuing to spring into action as our sitework contractor Louis Del Prince began removing fencing around the softball field. This week they continued topsoil stripping, received drainage structures for underground piping, and began demolishing the softball dugout. Del Prince will be wrapping up temporary fence installation around the playground to begin demolition scheduled for next week. Residents of Silver Creek Central School District have approved the 2024 Capital Project centered around many necessary updates and individual stakeholder groups who deserve to be considered in our projects. This is the largest project Silver Creek has ever approved, at $36.1 million dollars. Even at that amount, this will come with no tax impact to our district taxpayers.
